01/02/2024 - Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of Greek Music Heritage and the Ionian University

 

On Thursday, February 1, 2024, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute of Greek Music Heritage and the Ionian University, concerning all its departments, faculties and laboratories. The content of this Memorandum consists of the development of mutually beneficial and reciprocal actions for society and education, with a focus on Greek culture and specifically music as an art and as a science.

The subject of cooperation includes among others:

the development of scientific innovation, research synergy, and artistic promotion,

the submission and implementation of research programs, funding proposals, and developmental or cultural projects

the co-organization of symposiums/conferences/lectures/exhibitions

the publication of books and audio-visual documentary material (CDs, DVDs, documentaries) on topics related to culture and music,

the production and promotion of audio-visual material/spots/trailers/films concerning Greek culture/Greek history/Greek language/Greek music and Greek composers in Greece and abroad,

the cooperation of professors-researchers of the Ionian University with subjects (indicatively) musicology, archives science, library science, and informatics with the Institute of Greek Music Heritage.

The cooperation between the two entities can be extended to the implementation of practical training for the students of the departments in the archive of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage and in the preparation of research papers."

 

The Memorandum was signed by the President of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage, Mr. Orestis Tsakalotos, and the Rector of the Ionian University, Professor Andreas Floros. Ms. Renata Dalianoudi, scientific director of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage and Associate Professor of 'Music and Audio-Visual Culture', in the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Faculty of Music & Audiovisual Arts of the Ionian University, was appointed as the scientific supervisor for monitoring and coordinating the actions of this Memorandum.
